New plan for Yllas confirmed

Yllas will be made up of four service centres:

• Akaslompolo
• The area between Yllas Ski and Akaslompolo
• Iso-Yllas
• The area between Yllasjarvi center and Isoyllaksentie

Altogether 50 000 beds will be available in the area of Akaslompolo Yllasjarvi, Luosu and Hannukainen.

Capacity

Commercial capacity (hotel accommodation and holiday villages)

• Akaslompolo: 2500 beds
• Between Akaslompolo and Yllas-ski: 2500 beds
• Tunturitie (Tunturi road): 6000 beds
• Iso-yllas: 6000 beds
• Yllasjarvi center: 1000 beds

in addition to this, there will be a further 14,000 holiday homes for commercial use in Akaslompolo and 7,000 homes in Yllasjarvi.

14,000 holiday homes will be available for private use.

The area between Yllasjarvi and Iso-yllas will be developed as a concise holiday home area, some corporate building will be allowed on the site as well.

There will not be any construction permitted on the fell and on the "view road" around the fell, except at both ends.  The aim is to build commercial holiday homes around the service centers.

There will be new holiday home areas at the bottom of the slope in Yllasjarvi, on the eastern side of commercial accommodation area and to the south of this o to the eastern side of an existing holiday home area.  These will not reach the border of the national park.
